Actress strangled in Lower Manhattan apartment

NEW YORK Diego Pillco, an illegal immigrant from Ecuador, admittedThursday that he murdered Shelly in her Greenwich Village apartmentin November 2006. He will receive 25 years in prison when he issentenced on March 6.
Pillco claimed Shelly had threatened to call police after shecaught him stealing money from her purse.
