Online Summer High School Workshops Admitted Student Information (2024)

• Activate your Net ID - Go tohttp://start.nyu.eduand follow the instructions. Your NetID is your login and username for your NYUHome and e-mail accounts. When you do this, you will at the same time also enable your NYUHome portal and NYU email accounts.

• Log in to NYUHome - Go tohttp://home.nyu.eduand enter your NetID and password. Visit the various tabs to familiarize yourself with the layout and information available.

• Log in to Albert - From the NYUHome Welcome screen, click on the tab labeled “Academics.” On the upper left side of the Academics page, click the box labeled “Albert Login.” You will now be at the Albert Welcome screen. Albert is NYU’s student information system.

• Activate/Check your NYU Email - Please Note: If you “Accept” your admissions offer, at this point in the process you will need to WAIT 24 HOURS to activate your email. If you receive an error message stating that the system does not recognize your credentials, simply try back the next day. If the problem persists, email a screenshot of the error message to university.programs@nyu.edu.

After 24 hours, you may now activate your NYU email account by returning to the "Start" page (http://start.nyu.edu) and logging in with your NetID and password then selecting the menu option "Set an NYU Google Apps for Education password".

You can check your NYU email by logging into NYUHome and click the “Email” link, or navigate directly to email.nyu.edu, and using your NYUHome credentials.All NYU correspondence from this point on will be sent to your NYU email address. Your NYU email address consists of your Net ID@nyu.edu.

Special Note for Waitlisted Students: If enrollment for a course reaches capacity, additional registrants will be added to the waitlist. Waitlisted candidates will be notified if additional space in the class becomes available.Students who are taken off the waitlist will be able to access their NYU email 24 hours after they accept their offer of admission.

International students can submit final payment via thissite.

The total amount for tuition for 4 units (credits) can be found under "Tuition and Fees" on the Online High School Filmmakers Workshop or Online High School Screenwriters Workshop program page.

Registration will begin after Thursday June 4, 2024. Students can check their eSuite for their full tuition bill.After confirming your spot with the $1,500 deposit,you will be required to pay the remaining cost of the programviaNYU eSuite,NYU's eCheck system, before the program start date.International students must confirm your participation by paying viaFlywire, NYU's wire transfer system. Instructions for third-party payments are available on theNYU Bursar's website.

You can access and pay your bill via Albert 24 hours a day.

NYU Program Forms

Students will receive an email with a link to Slate (all forms are electronic and available via the link) with submission instructions. Forms require the signatures of both students and parents.

Full payment and completion of all forms by the program start dates are required for all students.

You will be utilizing theSmashcutplatform to take this course. Closer to the start date of the program, we will be emailing you a link that will direct you to create your Smashcut accounts. For the best experience, please use the Chrome web browser when registering your account. You can download the latest version of Chromehere.

After you create your accounts, theSmashcutteam will reach out with a welcome email and give you access to the Help Center, as well as a tutorial on how to use the site. Once your account is created, you will also be able to begin your class.

Requirements for the Online High School Filmmakers Workshop:

• This is an intense, month-long course with daily deliverables.
• Students should be prepared to dedicate 6-10 hours per week for this course.
• Students are required to supply their own technology – camera, sound, and editing – for this class.
• Students can shoot with their own prosumer camera, DSLR or cell phone that can shoot high quality footage.
• Students must use a desktop or laptop computer with a webcam, microphone, and audio capability.
• This online course works best with a fast, reliable internet connection, and requires Chrome web browser.

Students and parents/guardians should discuss with each other the rules and policies set forth here. Please be advised that due to the particular nature of NYU summer programs, certain student conduct policies are considered to be fundamental to the success of the program.

Failure to comply with the rules and policies of the University and/or of NYU summer programs may lead to disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from a program with no refund of tuition or fees.

During the 4 weeks of the Tisch Online High School Filmmakers Workshop or the Tisch Online High School Screenwriters Workshop, students will earn 4 college credits. Each college or university has its own transfer policy, so students will need to inquire how credits earned in the Tisch Online High School workshops can be applied once they are admitted to an undergraduate program.

All grades will be posted by September, but academic transcripts ARE NOT automatically sent at the end of the summer. If students would like an academic transcript, they can submit a request by:

• Visiting the Registrar’s Office located at the StudentLink Center (383 Lafayette Street, 1st Floor)

• Mailing or faxing a letter to the University Registrar.

Transcripts can be requested at any time. When making requests in person, photo ID must be presented. Mailed or faxed requests require the signature of the student. Only the student can make a request for his or her grades. Please note that any students who have not completely paid all charges attributed to their program will not be able to request a transcript until their Bursar account is settled.
