  There's no HW, no exams, no textbook, basically no organization. If you try to ask a GSI a question, they'll just reply with another question. You learn nothing in lecture, it's like a kindergarten class. Assignment's are very unclear. Taking this class with Wehreim is not worth the "easy A". Do not take.

  Ok look I know that a lot of people hate them. I genuinely enjoyed their teaching and I feel like had the course structure been better organized it could have been a really great learning experience. Obviously a lot went wrong. I hope that in the future a (more organized) version of this class will be offered again.

  Wehrheim is a terrible lecturer and teacher. Through a combination of incredibly complex grading structures, unequivocally useless teaching methods and a disdain for actually teaching, this teacher has managed to make my life life miserable for every moment of the class. Do not take this class if you want to learn or if you want to be happy.

  This class was exhausting despite me coming in knowing most of the material. Wehrheim organizes their class in a well-intended yet confusing structure which hindered my ability to learn effectively. No midterms/final, only relatively easy weekly tests and 3 projects. However, the lectures and workscripts are a drag and make it so hard to learn.

  Math 54 with Wehrheim is very surface level and doesn't prepare you for situations when you actually need linear algebra. If you ever need to use things like SVD, Least Squares, Gram Schmidt, or upper triangularization, good luck because this class will not go in depth on these subjects. If you're interested in linear algebra, go with Paulin

  I took this course two semesters ago, currently I'm taking classes which require linear algebra and now I truly feel the damage Professor Wehrheim did to me and the rest of the class. I did well in the course but if I hadn't studied linear algebra on my own I would be failing my current courses. This is Professor Wehrheim's legacy.

  Professor Wehrheim's teaching style is different from most other professors I have had. Their lectures cover a wide range of topics, although not always about linear algebra. There is no homework, but there are daily check-ins for credit. You can use many different resources including the 30 page weekly workscripts, textbook, or YouTube videos.

  This class was bad. And when I say bad, I don't mean Michael Jackson bad. I mean 2014 NFC Championship game bad. This class is very easy to get a good grade in, but the amount of effort and self-learning you have to put in is not worth it. The Workscripts were terrible and confusing, along with the lectures. It is very hard to learn in this class.

  This professors course is not terribly challenging to get a good grade in if you do the work, though it is a lot of work and its all very conceptual (lots of writing). You also basically have to teach yourself or learn in discussion section because the professor does not teach in lecture. You will not learn linear algebra by going to lecture.

  The course is structured terribly and there's a lot of useless reading in the WorkScripts. The discussion sections were the only times I learned anything in this class. Luckily, there's a lot of opportunities to make up lost points and it's not exam-based.

  This class is an unusual mix of being undoable to the extent that you simply don't learn linear algebra. Maybe 20% of this class knows basic linear algebra, the rest just ask GSIs for help because the prof wasn't helpful. Not exceptionally difficult material, just a horrible professor. The worst professor took at Berkeley.

  just as everyone else has stated, this class is horrible. very poorly run. The prof changed the final project assignment multiple times, which actually put certain students at a disadvantage because they planned ahead. The prof tries to act like they care about the marginalized community in math but really doesn't. I used to love math, now I dont

  Their workscripts expect you to learn Math through blocks of text, and although students have said that it doesn't work, we are not offered any tangible examples. They claim to "value our input", but every suggestion that the students give is ignored or taken in the wrong spirit. Having learned Linear before, I was able to get by without attending
